The Art Numérique Publishing House has the great pleasure of announcing the release of its book “Caftans and Jewelry, Collection of Lalla Chmicha”. The author, Houbaba Iraqui, is the curator of a family heirloom which testifies to the richness of Moroccan ornaments which have been passed down from mother to daughter for several generations. Drawing on the Andalusian origins common to many Moroccan families and to which Lalla Chmicha claimed so much, it is through embroidery and goldsmithing techniques that we discover the caftans of yesteryear and the gold jewelry of the city dwellers of its time. The texts written in both French and English are intended for future generations and more especially for his grandchildren who live in the four corners of the world. Punctuated with poems by Mohamed Fassi Fihri, a lover of words and verses, we plunge back into a recent era, but forever gone, when we took the time to celebrate, gather with family and cultivate Moroccan traditions.
