Kadiri Lamia, Author & Artist-Painter

 Why this book?

  • This book is dedicated to Women and Art.
  • Its primary objective: to arouse desires, vocations, to show that it is possible to live your passion. This work aims to be the ambassador of the remarkable work of 16 women from Morocco, in Morocco, or with strong links with this country, in artistic or creative disciplines, in any case linked to our five senses. It aims to capture the artistic excitement of this year 2019 and presents a selection of works of art, fragments of life, paths taken, battles fought, values defended loud and clear, often feminine, sometimes feminist, other ecologists, cultural or just beautiful and gourmet.
  •  It tells the stories of women from several generations, of women living in different territories, belonging to multiple environments and cultures, of altruistic, obedient and conformist or iconoclastic, serious or adventurous women, of daring, free, restrained or unbridled people. . What binds them is a defection of ties, because they have all left, at one time or another, the constraints of society to take the path towards their passions.
  • Precisely, this work tells the power of passion, that of meeting, of synchronicity, of the right moment. He says the immense part of pleasure and vocation, because all these women enjoy themselves above all by practicing their art and through this, give meaning to their lives and their daily lives. This collection is a work dedicated to the next generation, to youth, but also to maturity. It is aimed not only at those who love art and recognize its function and value, but also at discoverers. Because more than ever from my point of view, in the context in which we live today, art has a utility, I would even say, a mission. It is a series of portraits of artists, active women, women activists and sometimes even “artivists”. An exhibition on paper of some of their works that delight our senses and our spirit. It looks back on the careers of women recognized in the national or international art world, rediscovers well-known artists, or highlights newcomers who are still little-known. The main thing is to show the diversity of artistic production on the Moroccan scene and the dynamism demonstrated by these extraordinary personalities who often combine several professional lives. Through this book, the desire is to illustrate how art can set an example, deconstruct taboos and beliefs, speak out, build networks, transmit, raise the torch, contribute to making a society locked more inclusive, more united, raise awareness, call and transform. It took an original form which is presented in the form of a series of texts which tell about these women artists in an intimate way and the meetings which took place thanks to a love at first sight for a work, for a person, or quite simply by games of chance. Indeed, this work that you will soon hold in your hands was born thanks to a multitude of coincidences. The interviews made it possible to question a society through its artists, to demonstrate the vitality of an innovative, creative and dynamic national production, anchored in a rich heritage, in a country with polarized ideas, which is searching for itself and which is living major changes in hectic current events.
  • It is an opportunity to highlight for the future, for young people, for the artists of tomorrow, those who are still groping, those who are restricted by their parents, a few secrets or a few ways to achieve one's passion; show them that taking impassable paths opens up paths for oneself and for others and above all that we make happy encounters which help us to travel further.
  • Finally, the absence of female models of success in art in our society is glaring. Those who get the spotlight today are generally financially successful men. Here, it is art that is in the spotlight and the success that is celebrated is linked to the fulfillment resulting from the state of flow and the feeling of achievement in which our passions lead us.
